Retired Sergeant First Class Monte Garlick served with distinction in the United States Army for over two decades. His career spanned a period of significant global events that included the height of the "cold war" and deployment during Operation Desert Storm, where he served in a combat role. Throughout his service, he demonstrated unwavering dedication and leadership, earning numerous commendations. Upon retirement, he continued to contribute to his community, embodying the values of duty and service. Monte currently struggles with PTSD as a result of his military service and hopes his experience and insight can help other vets who struggle with mental illness.
Troy Garlick is a passionate mental health advocate who openly shares his personal journey with depression, anxiety, PTSD, and cognitive distortion disorder. Through the many forms of media, Troy wants to provide a raw, authentic, and empathetic voice to the often overlooked struggles of living with mental health challenges. He wants to break the stigma surrounding mental illness by fostering open, honest conversations and offering a sense of community and understanding to anyone who may feel isolated or misunderstood. Along with his brother Monte, they want to provide a safe place, validation, and hope to anyone as they navigate their own mental health issues.
